A Cooperating Network Agreement between NDACC and the European Brewer Network (EUBREWNET) was finalized on 19 April 2021.
As a result of this agreement, John Rimmer (University of Manchester) and Alberto Redondas (State Meteorological Agency of Spain (AEMET) and the NDACC Brewer Working Group Representative) have been named EUBREWNET Co-Representatives to the NDACC Steering Committee.
EUBREWNET, was established to coordinate Brewer spectrophotometer measurements of ozone, spectral ultraviolet (UV), and aerosol optical depth (AOD-UV) in the UV within Europe through a formally managed Network capable of delivering a consistent, spatially homogeneous data resource. Initially covering only Europe, the project now includes 40 stations around the world. New calibration and instrument characterization procedures are incorporated into new algorithms for the determination of total column ozone, taking account of non-linearities and stray light effects within the spectrometer. A new near-real-time database hosted at AEMET is publicly available, where all raw data are processed centrally and subjected to the same quality control criteria. Data products are produced in levels that reflect the stages of quality control applied from initial near-real-time to final archive quality for trend analysis. 1
Additional information is available on the EUBREWNET website: www.eubrewnet.org.
We welcome EUBREWNET as a Cooperating Network, and we look forward to a long and fruitful collaboration!
